At Kemah Palms Recovery, we are proud to offer a licensed Adolescent Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Outpatient Program designed specifically for teens ages 12–17.
Our program provides evidence-based, developmentally appropriate care in a structured yet flexible setting—allowing adolescents to receive the support they need while remaining connected to their families, education, and daily lives.
We specialize in treating:
  • Substance use disorders (alcohol, drugs, vaping)
  • Co-occurring mental health conditions (anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges)

Levels of Care

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Our Adolescent PHP offers a highly structured and clinically intensive level of care for teens who need more support than traditional outpatient services but do not require 24-hour residential treatment.
This program is designed to work around school schedules, including options for:
  • Homeschooled students
  • Virtual learners
  • GED-enrolled adolescents

Day/Evening Structured Treatment (4:00 PM – 8:00 PM)

  • Trauma-informed treatment practices
  • Academic and life-balance integration
  • Focus on long-term recovery, not just short-term stabilization

Our Approach

What to Expect

  • 3–4 therapy groups daily (Monday–Friday)
  • Weekly psychiatric evaluation & medication management with a child/adolescent psychiatrist
  • Weekly individual therapy
  • Weekly family therapy
  • Evidence-based group therapies, including:
    • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
    • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
    • Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
    • Experiential Therapy
  • Educational programming (1 hour daily) including:
    • Substance use education
    • Tobacco/vape cessation
    • Overdose prevention
  • Care coordination & discharge planning
Average Length of Stay
Approximately 4 weeks, based on clinical need and progress

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Flexible Evening Treatment (5:00 PM – 8:00 PM)

Our IOP provides a step-down level of care or an entry point for teens who need structured support while maintaining greater independence in daily life.
This program continues to support academic engagement with flexible scheduling for:
  • Traditional school students
  • Homeschooled adolescents
  • GED programs
What to Expect
  • 3 days per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
  • Minimum of 9 hours of treatment per week
  • 6 therapy groups weekly, including:
    • Process Groups
    • Psychoeducational Groups (Substance Use, Tobacco/Vape Cessation, Overdose Prevention)
  • Multifamily Skills Group (teens and parents participate together)
  • Social Skills Development Groups
  • Bi-weekly individual therapy
  • Family therapy (minimum once monthly)
  • Individualized treatment planning
  • Care coordination & discharge planning
Average Length of Stay
6–8 weeks, based on individual progress

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
